Every time I write a new article, I learn something. I sit down with an idea to write about, and by the end of the post, an entirely new lesson reveals itself to me.
My goal in starting this website was to be able to inspire other people by processing my own thoughts and life lessons. Half altruistic, half selfish.
Knowing this, I want to review the articles from the past two months so that I can remember the lessons that they have brought me, while being able to introduce previous articles to new readers.
Here are the best of the posts over the last two months, in case you missed any.
July:
Six Ways to Be Continuously Inspired
I love inspiration. If I knew my calling in life, it would be to inspire other people, and figure out how to be continuously inspired. These are the six ways that I keep myself in the happiest state possible: constant inspiration.
Complaining In Order to Connect to Others
We all complain. But, how often do you do it and have good intentions? I was surprised at how often I do this once I realized it.
Blogging Allstars: 10 People the Inspire Me
This post is simply a dedication to all of the people that inspire me. This has been one of the most popular articles, and my way of saying a simple ‘thank you’ to a bunch of amazing people that I have met and found here on the good ‘ol internet.
Facing Your Fears
A loud, obnoxious child that was a customer at my restaurant taught me a powerful lesson: how to be fearless.
7 Day Challenge
I had good aspirations of challenging my self discipline. Later, I discovered that I did it all wrong and set myself up to fail. Little did I realize that the biggest lessons actually come from things where we don’t succeed.
Everything I Need to Know, I’ve Learned From My Goldfish
I have an odd, obsessive love for my goldfish. I recently realized that they had more to teach me than I realized. It’s kind of incredible what these little slimy, cold-blooded creatures add to my life.

Why My 7 Day Challenge Was Doomed to Fail Before it Even Started
Here is the follow up to my self imposed self discipline challenge… and all the powerful lessons that came from failing.
Make a Move, Even if it’s the Wrong Move
I had a blogging brain fart. So, I decided to just write though it. I had no idea that one of the greatest lessons would reveal itself to me by just sitting down and being as honest as possible… and the honesty ended up producing the most popular post, yet.
Teachers Are Everywhere
If you haven’t watched the video “Hope, Dope, and Soap”, go watch it now. It’s the most inspiring and awesome video I’ve seen all year.
Too Many Thoughts, So Little Time
My own scatterbrain caused me to come up with a simple plan to prioritize. Check out this simple four step plan to figure out your priorities and get it all down on paper.
5 Most Unusual and Interesting People on Twitter
I’m a Twitter addict. But, even if you don’t know what Twitter is, these amusing and hilarious people are some of my favorites. They brighten my day, every day.

Writing is a great way to learn! And you also learn a lot by teaching the subject, this is true for everyone, not just for experts.
Oscar
Hi Oscar,
That’s very true… I never thought of how I write as ‘teaching’ but I guess sometimes it is! It is the best way to learn something as well.. by explaining it to others!
Thanks for your comment
Karen
Teaching is definitely a great way to learn!
I look forward to all your future posts
Ken
What a great idea to recap this way! A really nice set of posts here. I especially liked the one about your goldfish. I am amazed what I learn by spending a few minutes in front of our tank in the evening. I am going to do a similar post soon.
Thanks Dena! The goldfish post is one of my favorites… maybe just because I love my goldfish! I can’t wait to see your post… and pictures of your tank!
Heya Karen!
Nice idea to make a recap of your posts for the last two months, just keeping everyone’s memory fresh!
My favourite is the goldfish post:)
Gorgeous picture for the post, the jetty in the tropical waters, mmmm, makes me want to go on holidays!!!
Keep well miss!
Hey Diggy,
Thanks for dropping by! I think the goldfish post was a favorite… of me at least
Glad to know I wasn’t the only one!
Karen
Congrats Karen!
Great idea – you’ve done some really great posts Karen…always enjoy reading your posts … thank you for the inspiration.

Hey Jen,
Thanks for being a loyal supporter. Your comments are always so sweet and very appreciated!
Karen – first of all, I think the review of past posts is an excellent idea. I hope you don’t mind but I would like to “borrow” the idea from you at a later date once I get a few more posts archived.
Secondly, my favorites were regarding the 7-day challenge, both before and after. All I have to say is, “WOW!” I have read a number of your posts in the past and you never fail to disappoint but these two posts really resonated with me. I think it’s because I give myself the same type of “challenges,” but don’t always follow through with them…sometimes “life” gets in the way and it’s frustrating when I don’t follow through with something. But, “life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans” and whenever I develop a strong enough underlying reason to accomplish something, I seem to always come through.
Something that helps me is remembering, “learn from yesterday but live for today. Live for today but do something to make a better tomorrow.”
Keep up the great posts!
Paul
Hey Paul,
Go ahead and use this idea… it’s not even mine… I’ve seen a lot of bloggers do wrap ups for the past month or so, and thought it was about time that I try out their idea. It also helps me remember the recent past articles, so that I can see what areas I need to right about for future posts!
As for the 7 day challenge… I think it was a good idea at the time, but I think a 30 day trail is a better idea. And, changing just one or two behaviors instead of a whole bunch should make it more successful! That’s my plan for the future, at least.
Karen
Everyone’s coming back from vacation, glad you posted these best posts. I’ve got a similar one coming up tomorrow for all the August travelers!
Hey Anil,
I didn’t think about people away on Summer vacations…. excellent idea! I hope it helps people catch up on anything that you missed from the past few weeks.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
Karen
Great idea! Mind if I borrow it?
Of course not! It’s not my idea anyway, as I just ‘borrowed’ it from other blogs that I saw doing it.
Wow, Karen. Now I’ve got some reading to do. I’m a lot like you, though. While I’m writing this kind of internal dialogue takes place. Even though I’m writing it, I read it back as if I had never seen it before. I always end up figuring out things I never meant to.
Also, I might steal this “greatest hits” post idea for WSR
It’s a great idea to do a greatest hits idea for WSR… I need some pointers as to what the best articles are over there!
I think the best part blog, of writing, especially in a public forum like a blog, is the the learning process that occurs during the writing process. Good to know I’m not alone on that one!
