Derek is an unfortunate rarity, and the kind of attitude that it takes to move in a positive direction is very inspiring. There are so many basic truths you can learn from people who have been in tough situations, through their own doing or just the world being hard. It's SO important to be around these people I think....it helps keep us on track. I have known many felons working in the restaurant industry, unfortunately only one of them ended up reformed.
